First Viewing Viewing Date: July 26th Via: Amazon Prime Plot: Five years after an unexplained malfunction causes the death of 15 tour-goers and staff on the opening night of a Halloween haunted house tour, a documentary crew travels back to the scene of the tragedy to find out what really happened. Rating: 7.6/10

First Viewing Viewing Date: July 26th Via: Netflix Plot: An FBI profiler is called in by French Canadian police to catch a serial killer who takes on the identity of each new victim. Rating: 6.4/10

First Viewing Viewing Date: July 23rd Via: iTunes Store Plot: A high-profile lawyer is shot during a botched robbery, leaving him needing to re-learn speech and mobility while dealing with severe memory loss. To the surprise of his family, he develops into a loving and affectionate family man, as opposed to the ruthless businessman he used to be. Rating: 6.6/10

First Viewing Viewing Date: July 23rd Via: Amazon Prime Plot: In 1997 Rio de Janeiro, Captain Nascimento has to find a substitute for his position while trying to take down drug dealers and criminals before the Pope visits. Rating: 7.9/10

First Viewing Viewing Date: July 22nd Via: iTunes Store Plot: The true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who ran the world's most exclusive high-stakes poker game and became an FBI target. Rating: 6.9/10

First Viewing Viewing Date: July 22nd Via: Stan. Plot: A daughter, mother and grandmother are haunted by a manifestation of dementia that consumes their family's home. Rating: 7.6/10

It was hard to ignore this case when it first went to trial, as the media were all over it, and the media continue to sporadically report on Michelle Carter. It seemed black and white at first glance - Michelle talked her boyfriend into killing himself and is culpable for the suicide. I didn't know there was much more to the story, and was, therefore, intrigued by this HBO documentary series which takes an intimate look at the case. This documentary isn't biased, nor does it feel like propaganda to persuade a certain point of view, and I found the further details of the case absolutely fascinating. And even though I knew Michelle went to prison, I hoped and prayed she would be found innocent and set free. This is a compelling, exceptional documentary miniseries that must be watched by anyone who appreciates true crime.
