It was just released on Netflix. I didn't want to pay to watch it, so I watched it on Netflix instead.

Agent investigates the disappearance of a legendary Army Ranger Drill Sergeant and several of his cadets during a training exercise gone severely awry. Rating: 7.6/10 Why Did I Watch It? I was interested in seeing this one because it was directed by John McTiernan. After watching The Thomas Crown Affair, it seemed appropriate to watch another of McTiernan's films.

First Viewing Viewing Date: March 9th Via: Amazon Prime Video Plot: A wealthy playboy amuses himself by stealing a valuable Monet painting from a museum in New York. He soon attracts the attention of a smart, beautiful insurance investigator who's brought in to retrieve the painting. Rating: 7.9/10 Why Did I Watch It? I recently saw an article about this movie which put it back on my radar after I'd been meaning to see it for years. I mean, I'm a fan of both Pierce Brosnan and John McTiernan, and this remake was quite well-received. I also remember seeing the poster back when it was released, and I remember seeing ads on TV back in the day.

Rating: 6.6/10 Why Did I Watch It? I want to watch the '90s remake with Pierce Brosnan, and felt obliged to watch the original first.

First Viewing Viewing Date: March 9th Via: Plex Plot: Trapped in an isolated gas station by a voracious Splinter parasite that transforms its still-living victims into deadly hosts, a young couple and an escaped convict must find a way to work together to survive. Rating: 6.7/10 Why Did I Watch It? It was free on Plex and looked interesting, plus the ratings were promising.

First Viewing Viewing Date: March 9th Via: Amazon Prime Video Plot: A coach with a checkered past and a local drunk train a small town high school basketball team to become a top contender for the championship. Rating: 8.2/10 Why Did I Watch It? I found this while browsing on the MGM channel. It has great ratings and Gene Hackman, so it was made a priority.

First Viewing Viewing Date: March 8th Via: Amazon Prime Video Plot: A cruel but beautiful heiress mocks and cheats a hired carpenter. When she gets amnesia after an accident, he decides to introduce her to regular life by convincing her that they're husband and wife. Rating: 6.9/10 Why Did I Watch It? I'm a fan of '80s comedies and wanted to check it out while I had the MGM channel.

First Viewing Viewing Date: March 7th Via: Google Play Plot: In 18th-century France, the Chevalier de Fronsac and his Native American friend Mani are sent to the Gevaudan province at the king's behest to investigate the killings of hundreds by a mysterious beast. Rating: 6.8/10 Why Did I Watch It? Some film buffs I follow recently posted about it, which put it back on my radar.

First Viewing Viewing Date: March 6th Via: SBS On Demand Plot: An up-and-coming gangster is tested by the insurgence of an unknown, very powerful threat. Rating: 6.7/10 Why Did I Watch It? It's something of an iconic British gangster movie, and I had to check it out - especially since it was free on SBS.

First Viewing Viewing Date: March 5th Via: Cinema Plot: An oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists and teens converge on a Georgia forest where a huge black bear goes on a murderous rampage after unintentionally ingesting cocaine. Rating: 5.7/10 Why Did I Watch It? It looked fun enough due to the ridiculous (but true) premise.

First Viewing Viewing Date: March 5th Via: Cinema Plot: Adonis Creed has retired from professional boxing and now focuses on other athletes. But a childhood friend resurfaces after a stint in prison, and a rivalry ensues which compels Adonis to return to the ring. Rating: 6.3/10 Why Did I Watch It? I'm a fan of this franchise and I wanted to see this newest entry as soon as possible.

Plot: In order to raise the tuition to send her young son to private school, a single mother starts an unusual business - a biohazard removal/crime scene clean-up service - with her unreliable sister. Rating: 7.1/10 Why Did I Watch It? This was a random watchlist pick due to its short runtime, cast and good ratings. It was also one of the first movies I added to my Stan. watchlist in 2015, so it seemed like it was time to scratch it off.

Plot: Following a drunk driving incident, a successful basketball coach is sentenced to community service, and is forced to work with a team of mentally disabled players. Rating: 7.2/10 Why Did I Watch It? I wanted to watch the original film before the remake comes out.

First Viewing Viewing Date: March 5th Via: Netflix Plot: A young American woman moves with her husband to Bucharest, and begins to suspect that a stranger who watches her from the apartment building across the street may be a local serial killer decapitating women. Rating: 6.7/10 Why Did I Watch It? It was recommended by Edgar Wright which brought it to my attention. Additionally, it's quite short and it was on Netflix.

First Viewing Viewing Date: March 4th Via: Netflix Plot: The residents of Bird Island and Pig Island agree to a truce after discovering another island nearby which is home to a group of megalomaniacal eagles who have a plan for world domination. Rating: 5.8/10 Why Did I Watch It? I enjoyed the first film well enough and wanted to watch this sequel before it leaves Netflix.

Rating: 7.0/10 Why Did I Watch It? It looked interesting, it was well-reviewed, and it was a discounted rental.
