Viewed: Season 5 Orphan Black has now drawn to a close after a strong five-season run, and I can't imagine any long-time fans of the show being disappointed by this conclusion. The show's final ten episodes retain the storytelling density which defined earlier seasons, working through various characters and tangents whilst always boasting eye-catching visuals and astonishing performances. Indeed, Tatiana Maslany deserves all the credit and acclaim that she can get - you grow to see each clone as its own character, and not just another Tatiana performance. The show builds to a fitting conclusion; the final episode actually disposes of all the villains by the halfway mark, leaving another 20 minutes to show the sisters continuing their lives. It's a nice way to wrap up the show, though you'll still be left wishing there was more Orphan Black to look forward to. Highly recommended.

Viewed: Series 10 Series 9 of Doctor Who was an undeniable high point for NuWho, signifying what was - in my opinion - the best, most consistent season of the reboot up until that point (a single hit-and-miss episode notwithstanding). Thus, Series 10 was always going to be something of a step down compared to 9, but it's surprising just how downright solid this twelve-episode run really is. It's a season without any bad episodes, and even the lesser episodes are still overall pretty good by Who standards. The BBC continues to put money into the show, resulting in a slick-looking sci-fi series which continues to impress in terms of scale and ambition. The season culminates with a superb penultimate episode which brings back Jon Simm as The Master in a big, bad way. So...yeah. Series 10 is not as great as 9, but much better than 8. It's a nice closing season for Capaldi, who I've really grown to accept in the role. With the new Doctor announced to be a woman, this is where I get off the Who train. Ten seasons, two of which I watched week-to-week as they aired. It's been fun.
